The proposed residential building at 95 Riverview in Toronto required shoring for tree protection along one side of the property. RWH Engineering Inc. (RWH) was retained to complete the shoring design for the project.
RWH designed a cantilever piles and lagging shoring system. The shoring was used as a back form for the building’s foundation wall in order to maximize the distance between the shoring and the trees. The one-sided forming also reduced the amount of excavation required within the site. As the cantilever system is not supported by rakers, the need for box-outs through the foundation wall was eliminated.
